G’day there!
Today is Day 1 of launching my very own website. It is part of an ongoing challenge I have given myself to broaden my reach in my profession and possibly invite a new audience of people that find my expertise and content worthwhile. I genuinely feel that I have a voice that people want to hear and that I bring value in how I approach both my profession and my life.
So where to begin? Do I talk about my professional and personal journey? Do I go straight into business and just talk about mortgages? The honest answer is that I don’t know… yet. Like any new challenge, this is the first step.
I believe that with anything in life, if you want different results from others, you have to be willing to do things differently. If you don’t even try, you’ll never know what the potential of something could be.
Over the coming months and years, I plan to do all things social media. Record video (recording myself feels awkward and yet I’m finding that it's natural to feel that way when you’re inexperienced), post mortgage content, post personal content about my life and just about anything in between. I have no idea where it could lead and this could very well be something I look back over the years and cringe at the early days but we all have a journey and I’m wanting to invite people into mine!
My genuine hope for all of this is to create a deeper connection with the people I do business with, my customers and those in my circle of friends and family and just see where it leads. I love what I do so this is very much a passion project, a therapy session, and just trying to be different.
On a personal note, tonight was the series finale of Ted Lasso. Those who watch the show will know all about the characters, the storyline and how they all make you feel. I’m sad knowing that this show that ran for just 3 seasons is ending. Jason Sudeikis (the actor who plays Ted Lasso) had an idea in mind for the story he wanted to tell and only needed 3 seasons to tell it. As a viewer and lover of the show, I want more but also respect it for what it is. It's not trying to be more than it is but has left a lasting impact on myself and others. If you haven’t watched the show, I HIGHLY recommend you watch it. It's not just a show about soccer. If there’s one thing we need more in this world is people to believe (Ted Lasso reference for those that don’t know) in themselves and I want to continue to endorse that message for myself and others around me.
